On the morning of November 28, 2018, IEEE senior member and Professor Zhao Lian of Computer Department of Ralson University in Canada gave an academic exchange lecture entitled "mobile edge caching, deterministic and probabilistic strategies" for teachers and students in the 2216 conference room of bishops building, district a, Chongqing University. The lecture was presided over by Professor Liu Min, vice president of the school of microelectronics and communication engineering. Teachers and graduate students of relevant majors such as Jian Xin, Zhong Yuanhong, Li Xinke and Fu Shu attended the lecture.
Zhao Lian graduated from BBCR Laboratory of Computer Department of University of Waterloo in 2002. Her research interests include wireless communication, wireless resource allocation, cognitive radio, cooperative communication, and complex system optimization technology. Since 2013, she has been the editorial board member of IEEE transaction on vehicular technology journal, chairman of IEEE GreenCom 2018 conference and co chairman of IEEE ICC 2018 wireless communication branch. She also won the best land transportation paper award of IEEE vascular technology society in 2016, one of the 15 outstanding editorial board members of IEEE transaction on vascular technology, and the best paper award of IEEE WCSP conference in 2013.
In the lecture, Zhao Lian took the small base station network as the breakthrough point, and proposed the mobile edge cache technology, which can effectively reduce the transmission delay between the terminal and the terminal. For mobile edge caching technology, Zhao Lian proposed two new strategies: deterministic and probabilistic strategies, and introduced the latter strategy in detail, and pointed out that the dynamic cache could adapt to the change of content popularity and converge to the optimal content cache probability. At the end of the lecture, Zhao Lian and the teachers and students present discussed the topic more deeply.
