On 15th Nov, School of Communication Engineering held a meeting with international students. Attended were Mr. Tan, Vice Dean of the college, Professor Liu, Assistant Dean, Mr. Xiao, educational administrator, and Miss Huang, the International Students’ mentor.
The meeting was held to greet new international students, giving all the international students a chance to know each other, and listening to their advices on the management and study of the school.
First of all, Mr. Tan expressed his warm welcome to all international students, and invited them to feel free to share their advices and opinions. All the international students were greatly inspired, and they started to air their own views and feelings. Zeeshan, a second-year graduate of the college, pointed that the present course arrangement is a little out of balance for students major in Electronics, hoping that more courses on Electronics would be added, and a course named Satellite Communication should be opened. Mr. Tan and Mrs. Liu welcomed this advice and promised that they would try to make some changes to the course arrangement. Another second-year graduate Zain expressed his wish to visit some companies of communication, which was a bit difficult to realize, but Mr. Tan said he would still try to figure it out. The first-year graduates were also very active. They posed lots of questions on the problems they faced in their daily life, which were almost answered by the other students. At last, Miss Huang invited all of them to join the students of the college in their party, and all of them accepted and wished that they could take part in more recreational activities like this.
The meeting ended with sounds and laughters. All the international students expressed their
gratitude to the school and the teachers, and their willingness to promote our school after they come back to their home country.
