Prof. Xiaoping Zeng: received the B.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China in 1982, 1987 and1996, respectively. He is a state-level master teacher and professor of College of Communication Engineering, Chongqing University, China and serves as the dean of the college since 2000. He was a visiting professor of the OHIO State University in 2002.
He is an expert with State department special allowance, and National High-Level Talents Support Program (Million Talents Plan). He is a deputy director of Electronic and Electrical subject teaching supervision committee of Ministry of Education,the member of the committee on Communication for Masters of Engineering, the initiative scientist of the municipal academic committee on technology, the chief scientist of the municipal major science and technology project, the director of China Institute of Communications and deputy director of Chongqing Institute of Electronics, the leader of the national key subject on “Aerocraft TTC and Remote Sensing Information Transmission Technology” supported by “State 211 and 985 Project”, and the member of the Academic Committee, Academic Degree Committee and Teaching Committee of Chongqing University. He serves as an editorial board member of 4 journals: Journal of Chongqing University, Journal of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunication, Journal of Terahertz Science and Electronic Information Technology and Journal of Data Acquisition and Processing.
His current research interests include the next generation mobile communication, future aeronautical communication and biomedical signal processing. He is the leaders of many national research, international collaboration and industrialization projects, including National Nature Science Foundation, Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Oversea Chinese Scholars of the Ministry of Education, Special Fund of the Ministry of Education, Core Teachers Foundation of the Ministry of Education, Military Major Science and Technology Projects, Fundamental Application Research Fund of Chongqing and other projects cooperated with established enterprises. The overall scientific funding exceeds 3 million dollars. Because of his distinguished contributions, Prof. Zeng has won the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress (2nd class) in 2005, and the National Teaching Achievement Award (2nd class) in 2009, as well as 5 provincial or ministerial awards. He has filed 10 Chinese patents, of which 6 have been granted. He has published over200 technical papers in international journals and conferences, as well as 2 textbooks.
